Was going to say the same but I know more about concrete than I do plaster.

Have builders in doing this now. I have raised with them and they have said they are using heaters for the inside work.

Plasters are for external use only.

I'm in the process of attempting to remove Ivy from my garage wall and the back concrete wall we have in our garden.... taken me so far 2 months.... it's like a tree embeded in concrete... worked on it yesterday for about 3 hours or so... chainsaw... crow bar... hammer... in the end I poured petrol on the fucker and lit it.... done the job to a certain extent ... still got about 50% of it to go but boy oh boy am I gonna need some new rendering/plastering done...

Roundup (glycophosphate) works well on ivy. I do mine every two or three years.

I wouldn't fancy rendering in this weather.

Using heaters indoor when plastering is not a great idea either, unless on very low just to prevent frost.

Sock.... yeah but that stuff does not get it off walls does it.... just kills it over long term?? I have actually taken lumps of concrete off (concrete slabs) getting the fucker off.... some of the stuff attached to the wall is 12 inches thick!! Deffo easier after I napalmed it yesterday.... fucking cunting Ivy

Re: Is it ok to plaster during the winter?
For indoors you can do it but it will just stay wet for ages. It's no big deal.

Outside I don't know.

Sold, I never let the ivy get that well established.

Mine gets to a maximum 1" thick, round up kills it and loosens it, can normally hack it off within a day or two.

Do building sites shut down for the winter !!!

Re: Is it ok to plaster during the winter?
No but they do programme the works so certain things get done at the right time, and as previously said, they use heaters for internal works.

Re: Is it ok to plaster during the winter?
Not a good idea to use heaters, it takes all the moisture out of the plaster, too quick, causing cracking at a later date. Render is different, and you can get waterproofers like "SIKA" that can be used all year around. Good stuff, but not cheap!!!

Re: Is it ok to plaster during the winter?
Anything outside involving sand/cement, shouldnt be done if risk of frost, as water in mix will freeze, then when defrosts will crack or blow render/mortar.
If you cant avoid doing it for whatever reason, you can cover up with hessian sacks or similar, which will help.
Inside, should be ok, as long as you can temp up somehow, heating on low etc.
